              CHAPTER-1:1:15 (NEW IMMIGRANTS)-DAY-15     

    Eli and Ami Jankowsky were both up early enough that Sunday morning on the last day of summer to have time to get up and get ready for the day before getting to the summer festival.Eli was about to clean up her breakfast dishes and found out it would cause the sink to end up breaking and leaving a puddle.

    It was washing up breakfast dishes that caused the sink to break on Eli and she had to stop to fix it herself.She knew hiring a handyman to fix it was expensive and they didn't have that kind of money to throw around.It was obviously cheaper to just learn how to fix broken things than to pay for a repair.

    Eli ended up getting to work tending to their garden after fixing the broken sink and cleaning up the puddle it had left on the floor.They had planted everything in the ground outside because they didn't have any indoor planter boxes to use for planting like they'd wanted to have since was easier.

     It was later in the morning when they finally were able to get over to the festival grounds to visit the summer festival before it was gone until the next year.Eli decided to harvest some produce while Ami went fishing for a while.She ended up joining him later after getting some produce to use for a garden.

    It was getting close to 7PM when Eli and Ami both decided to enter the hotdog eating contest and try to win the prize because it would be a platter of hot dogs to eat over the next few days as they moved into early fall and got colder weather.It didn't take too long before there was a winner in the contest.

    Eli was staring at her empty platter while the other contestants were still eating hot dogs.It was already 7:30 in the evening and starting to get dark outside by then.Eli would have a platter of hot dogs to take home and put into the fridge for later since they wouldn't want to have to cook new meals.

    They stopped to use the festival washrooms before they had to get home and Eli unloaded the hot dogs into their fridge before getting into her sleeping bag and getting to sleep.
